What are Demo Dogs?
The concept of using dogs as teaching aides is gaining popularity among trainers worldwide. A ‘Demo Dog’ can be used to demonstrate behaviors, work to socialize puppies and even help out in reactive dog classes.
Our demo dogs will be showing you what your dog will be learning to introduce the new concepts!
Choppa AKA Choppy
This 9 year old German Shepherd-Rottweiler mix has been assisting with tr aining at APEX K9 TRAINING ACADEMY since its inception. Excelling at obedience in all types of environments, he brings a calm and confident demeanor to help enhance your dog's obedience skills.
Even though he's the oldest on the team, he has a young and strong spirit with lots of patience, great temperament and drive. Choppa loves to go an adventures & has even accompanied his handler in the cabin of the plane. His peak happiness occurs during cottage trips where he enjoys hikes involving challenges like climbing and jumping.
Cyprus AKA Dutches
Born on September 20th, 2023, to the formidable Slash, the demo dog for Jas Leverette from Cali K9. Cyprus comes from the distinguished lineage of working line dogs excelling in protection, sport, and law enforcement agencies.
Ready for any task at remarkable speed, this dutchie embodies agility, confidence, and an endless work ethic. She's currently enjoying her puppy hood going on adventures filled with training, agility and what she enjoys most, biting with the force of an adult dog.
Basilah
Basilah is a 9-month-old German Shepherd from a solid working bloodline of protection, sport, and service dogs adopted from Atheneden . She excels in basic and advanced obedience and has been doing protection work since she was 8 weeks old.
Basilah loves to work and will happily grip onto her target decoy on command. Although fearless when working, Basilah expresses endless love and affection towards her family and others when off the field.
Rosie
Rosie is a year-and-a-half-old Rottweiler who has trained as a service dog since she was 13 weeks old. Rosie works hard to complete her tasks for her handler and demonstrates advanced, off-leash obedience.
She has been on many adventures, even supporting her handler while travelling by plane! When Rosie isn't working, she loves to play ball and jump hurdles, so her latest hobby is playing Flyball.
Shiloh
Shiloh is a 5-year-old male F1B Goldendoodle. He has a happy-go-lucky personality with essential On Leash neutrality skills. He enjoys off-leash freedom and agility training.
